the "quizzikal" day

yesterday,i went to the college with no premonition that some serious "pelevili" was going to occur with me.well....i knew that the final of the quiz competition of electra, our eee association is going to happen that day,but i had not idea that it will all be happening on my chest.so this is what happened.manu adams was initially the quiz master for the event and as if the universe was conspiring against me,he fell ill.so after many discussions, they made me the quiz master.okay,,,,that will not be that bad , or so i thought.then came the first of the many blows.at 11 30, rahul j l , the coordinator thendi of the event came and said that the competition meant to be at 3 30 is preponed to 2 30 due to some serious staff meeting and stuff.okay, not soo bad again or so i thought....again...:)you should know that there are 3 rounds in the quiz....named after some greek stuff, citius , altis and tropis (perinte kaaaryathilonum avanmare ottum kurachilaa....)....rahul earlier explained to me about the rules of the round, which was complex to the point of me having to talakutinikkal, while having to ask 100 rapid fire questions in a single round itself and also to wind up the whole thing in 1 hr.so naturally u could not blame me if i ask the questions and the instruction manuel of the whole thing.he said he will give it to me all in good time.okay...fair enough...but i had doubts on how will i manage with the questions of which i may have no idea.at 1 15 , rahul j l came to me again....and said calmly..."alyaaa,pedikaruthe,,,,the last round questions are not prepared.vegam poyi oru 20 nalllla tough questions kande pidichonde vaaa.."....."ha ha ha.....i was just telling here that you have got no sense of humour and....vo vo vo....wait...are u serious ...!!!!???"....."yes...and please donot take more than 14 minutes, you have to do some other work after that ....".so it was like i running to the library and preparing some 10 to 15 questions.i came back and found that the questions are in some many pieces of scrap paper.....and i have to stand and hold it in the stage....!?..i asked nirma to write it in to a decent paper, when rahul again came up.."why are you making fuss about these small thingss...??"...."fuss ninake kaananaada punnaramonee...."...now the time is 2 15....students started to come to the seminar hall....and coordinators gave me the sheaf of papers for the second round....i just flipped through it and my  throat, already dry , went super dry.....some questions did not have any answers....!!!...and i asked the coordinators as politiely as i could on whether these questions are not supposed to have answers or is this all a "making-me-look-like-a-jackass" set up...??....i looked around and my throat which was super dry went hyper dry......dean of eee himself coming to watch the competition....i asked some juniors nearby for some of the answers, gave the whole sheaf to a coordinator asking her to find the answers(or i shrieked...??...i donot remember) and got in to the stage....before getting to the stage, the students chairman of electra held me and said that the whole thing have to end in 1 hour  , or "somebody gonna get hurt real baaad.."....good pep talk before entering the stage.....i do not exactly remember what was my opening words or anything i said in the first 2 minutes....but from there everything started to come out smooth...(donot misunderstand....:))...the whole quiz went fairily well except for the non functioning of mike , buzzer and some  doubts about some questions s legitimacy....but really, these problems were smoothly handled....dean particularly liked our show and congratulated us at the end....i wanted to really kick every last electra coordinators for making me go through this, but i was too happpy at the end to do that.....winding up this blog....stay awesome.....
